ABOUT SJ NATURE SHOP
SJ Nature Shop is a small-town, independent hobby shop located in St. James, Missouri. We're devoted to getting you the best products for your wild birds! The mission of SJ Nature Shop is to bring people closer to nature in their own backyards and beyond. The store is dedicated to providing products that encourage children and adults alike to keep appreciating all aspects of the outdoors, namely our local songbirds. We carry a wide variety of high quality feeders, houses, baths, and seed, as well many other nature-related gifts including books, puzzles, yard decor, and puppets.
STAN STONEBURNER, OWNER
SJ Nature Shop is locally owned by Stan Stoneburner who grew up in Missouri where he attended Missouri State University, earning degrees in both Creative Writing and Wildlife Conservation. As a Naturalist for Missouri State Parks and Arkansas State Parks, he presented nature programs and helped manage natural resources and habitats.
In 2023, he took his passion, knowledge, and experience in nature, conservation, and retail to start his own birdwatching business in his home state of Missouri. Since then it has seen healthy growth such as serving customers all across the state and finding a new location right on the main street of St. James.

Say Hello to Penny! (Penelope Mastodon III) Penny has been with the store since the beginning, always working hard on top-notch customer service and diverse marketing strategies.
She enjoys raspberries and going home to lounge by the pool. She gets hungry often so when you visit the shop, bring her a treat!
